ST PATRICK'S DAY SUNSET
On rainbows slide playfully,
Syllables at the speed of lightning
Dripping wet like fresh ink
Into a poem so green,
The leaves of clover squint,
For the sparkle of fantasy;
Where treasured gold composed,
Stare as leprechauns, hurrying, empty
The evening sky into night blankets
For verses and stanzas need never sleep.

An Irish Blessing
Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!

One should continue writing - no let-up. It makes everything move in tandem. Very true Gillena!

"Syllables at the speed of lightning Dripping wet like fresh ink" What a great line! I actually have Irish ancestry. My mother's maiden name was McCleary.

It was wonderful to hear you read this. I think in the midst of war-gloom, we need to be reminded of rainbows and poetry. This is a delight. I hope you had a happy St. Patrick's Day celebration. 💚
