OF BEAUTY
Speak to me of beauty i say
To my muse sitting atop the mountain peak
She and i sip lemon drops that slide down
From the throne of heaven

To my muse sitting atop the mountain peak
I have asked a question she is shy in retort
Or may be i am hurried in my seeking
Only the drift of clouds can span this gap

She and i sip lemon drops that slide down
Into a bowl of topaz crystals so precious
I'm almost afraid to reach for them
To be so flawless, so like the sun, variant

From the throne of heaven
Pours forth satiety, warmth and goodness
Honesty, clarity, applause and smiles, joy
Yet beauty lies within the seeker's reach

  2. I think you have to seek it not that it is not there but it is often clouded by our day unless we take that intentional time to sit and sip the lemon drops

    2. Beauty in our eyes is for us alone. What we see others may not for what touches us may not touch them. Beautiful poem Gillena.

  11. You really captured the fear we have of accepting the beauty before us. We are all so concerned with getting a diamond we fail to see the flawless topaz right before us.

  13. Wise words, Gillena. Heaven showers us with beauty, but how few of us are perceptive enough to open our fingers and grasp it - it's within the reach of every one of us!
