WHAT IS A LOTUS
That love unrequited is a misnomer.
And nothing in life is free is scientifically correct,
That kindness is the lifestyle not everyone adheres to and love is patient, kind, and in no way judgemental is rock hard fact. That and so many gifts taken for granted: Bird song, Or light - cold as a shift shaping moon, Stars - alone like socially distanced beings in a pandemic. And sky the colour of blue we think.
"Ah - If I knew then what I know now" - should i be saying that today? knowing that i may edit, but i'm not the author of life?
Ah humility, ah gratefulness, ah a heart of trust and thanksgiving: these i need like air to breathe, that i may hope in tomorrow.
I will bloom to light
From muddy anchors rooted
every good i am

I really like the positivity that sprouts out of the haiku.

Wonderful reflections, beautifully expressed! I love, 'knowing that i may edit, but i'm not the author of life'; for me it sums up perfectly the paradox of being part of the Divine plan whilst simultaneously exercising free will.

Editing is a good way to say "change". And not you are not the first author of all your life but you sure can edit much. Free will can get us in trouble if it is bad stuff. Isn't it nice to feel blessed?
ReplyDeleteNice Haibun, the Haiku part was nicely fitted too.

The key to being able to make it through this life with its ups and downs (and not going crazy wondering what you MIGHT have done in the past to change things) is, as you state...trust. And for me, that's trust in God, who, as the author of Psalm 138 assures us, knows all our ways--because he walks them with us.
