Monday WRites 231

OF TWENTY NINE DAYS
With days of unfixed number, yet
There are chocolates candy and cards,
Certain to be bought.

With all the window dressing,
Of hearts and flowers,
Romance is cleverly piqued.

Women can propose marriage - a leap year.

Welcome FEBRUARY: month of unfixed days - sometimes 28 sometimes 29 days, my Birthday, Valentines Day, Carnival. Last day of the Season of Carnival is the 25th here in Trinidad.

You've heard about the Monday Blues ❧✿❧ well this is Monday WRites (musing on the definition here of rite, as any customary observance or practice eg the rite of afternoon tea). A Happy Monday to all

  10. Gillena - we share February as our birthday month!!! You are the second person to mention this idea of women proposing in a leap year - this was news to me and I love it - power to the women! Thanks for supporting Mosaic Monday!

  11. The sevenling reminds me of O Henry's short stories with his unexpected endings. I like it, your poem. Very cool. Have you heard of the hay(na)ku format? Three lines consisting of 1 word, 2 words, then 3 words or vice versa.
When I was in high school, the school held a Sadie Hawkins Dance every February to which girls asked guys. So now I have an inkling what that was about way back when.:-)
    Are those elephant ears?

  13. Nice work, GC! Fair warning: the sevenling can be addictive. I got hung up on the Shadorma form, too, for a while, thanks (ie no thanks) to PW, a Texan blogger friend of mine. You might want to give that one a try as well (heh, heh, heh)...
