Silent beauty, Taenaris catops;
Do you sleep in the day like an owl ?
For only a short while your life hops,
Almost one third of a year is enough.
Silky to the touch Taenaris catops,
Forest and marshes you inhabit,
For those mimicking eyes to pop.
Wouldn't you prefer meadow flowers?
Or sampling farmer's crops?
Or ravaging through farmyard sops?
Guess you are just Taenaris catops.

We both picked up on the silent beauty part. Words don’t need to be spoken for beauty to be heard. Thanks for joining in, Gillena! Happy New Year!π€

When evolution like this happen, where critters have fake features to scare a way predators, I wonder how it happens. Nature is a constant source of awe to me, so many fine tunings along the way.
