Monday WRites 173

Within a hundred days of Christmas, well actually 92 days from Dec 25, I thought this would be a good time to post a mosaic of my Children's books. They are all written by me and available from online stores as well as the publisher Authorhouse.

HERE ARE THE OPENING LINES FROM EACH BOOK
A little seed shifted in his soil. "Let us ask Wind to save us." [The Little Seed And His Brother 2015]

Magi magician was well known in the village of Chinaberry. [Under The Chinaberry Tree 2016]

These were hot days, very hot days. [Third Planet From The Sun 2017]

"Wake up! wake up Anansi", said the Mrs Anansi. [Anansi and the Twelve Days of Christmas]

[The Circus 1937 by Joan Miro from google dot com; fair use]

THE CIRCUS
The circus came to town
I went to see animals
I went to see performers
I went to be amazed

The circus came to town
The big clumsy elephant
Ate peanuts from folks’ hands
In between elephant mouthed smiles

The circus came to town
Tigers snarled fierce teeth
But did what they were told
Folks gasped breaths of unbelief

The circus came to town
There was cotton candy
And innocence and laughter
And baggy pants clowns too

The circus came to town
Trapeze artistes flipped and swirled
There were seats in tiers
There was no burden of cruelty

Monday WRites 172

[images from google dot com used in today's Mosaic]

FOUR STANZAS OF GRAY
Night lamps sleep in the street
Tired from overseeing its quiet
Few stirrings of cobalt hours
Fade to dawn's delight of gray

Stay awhile the stormy hips
Of unseen slyphs urge on
So trees dance a wild dance
In gray hours of morning light

Not a coo from resident pigeons
Gray feathers hushed and folded
Song of raindrops fill the air
Let rainstorm voice her discord

Washed gray the empty street
Well that folks be dry indoors
Azure waits above hidden from
Treat of rainy morning's accord.

[3 internet images used, to form today's mosaic; Fair Use]

COUNTING SHEEP
Spinning sly heat off nighttime hours
Keen red and green lights automate
Time span of bedroom coolness
When sheep then sleep sets in
No one is disturbed
Sheep sleep nor i
Hear set fan
When it
Stops

CHARITY FOLD
Outstretched hand, a step up, to heaven;
Pearly gates, where a name scroll unrolls;
No initials, all is laid out in plain sevens;
For this is the number, of forgiveness times;
Given with compassion, a step up, to heaven;
Roll call of grace, milk and honey to succor;
Sacrifices to that beggar man, his dignity molten;
He too functions, in wide scheme of redemption;
That long journey home, to Paradise gate, harken;
Wisdom's call, arise to generous penance;
See, the outstretched hand, a step up, to heaven;

Monday WRites 170

[Images in today's mosaic from Bing dot com]

BACKPACKS TODAY
Backpacks swallow books pens pencils,
Stuffing itself with these and some surprises,
Tasty kindles and yummy cellphones,
New treats for new age packs.
Lunches though, they sometimes lack.
Does the adage still digest?
An apple for the teacher.
