SILLY GIGGLES
We giggled in theater halls, small stifly giggles;
giggled in church pews, sweet santified giggles;
giggled in scourching sun with sand between our toes;
beach towels large and spread , beneath sea grape trees
giggle still do we, now that we've grown old.

Monday WRites 98

HAPPY CARNIVAL MONDAY T&T

HIGH FIVE
Pale blue skies, clearing into morning. Green trees and masqueraders wearing the colour: jouvert-morning-fun. Its Monday of Carnival 2017. I talk to a jouvert masquerader, happily, covered in mud and paint. Why am i not in the band? Why am i standing at the corner? Been there done that. She gives me a high five and continues dancing away to catch up with the rest of the band.

KIND AND TRUE
If Snow White's stepmother was kind and true
Who would she be talking to?

a. An oval mirror in the white room
b. A new wildflower today's bloom
c. Exoplanets circling a new bright star
d. Dwarfs and Leprechauns near and far

Today Isadora has challenged us to write: a poem in the form of a multiple choice test.  The whole poem could be a test, or you could insert a multiple choice some where into the normal structure of a poem.

GOLD DUST
The crowd on Jerningham Avenue is anything but somber. You dust my bare belly with the golden dust of fun and frolic. An anointing, a passage into Tuesday play-mas. A day so much like today, with a sun, golden and scorching. Wind and dust, married in hot torrents of mesmerizing mantras. Yet my only chant, to the touch of your fingers caressing, is husband.

Monday WRites 97

[image from google dot com]
ETERNITY SPANS A BOND
Incredibly so, i will, love you forever
Fear not, of earnest span of time
There are days, still in the mind of ever;
And sorrows, i will turn to ash on fire,
My promise bequeath, i will, love you forever;
Who dresses lilies so cleverly in fields?
Surely, such talent, such finesse can never
Diminish or pale, in the scale of eternity,
Your burdens i can carry them, however
Weighty they may be, come to me in times
Of trouble and of joy, i will, love you forever.

LOVE LOVE LOVE
Tis good to stand on feet of air,
With songs of wind, in melodious vibe;
Hearts sprout wings, in ardous flight,
In fanciful ethereal fawning;
Love trends us fanciful foolish,
Whence cowardly tenders, ply in their loss.

Monday Writes 96

[image from google dot come]

ITS THE MUD THAT LUVS US
Wallowing in our comfort zones,
Is not the taste of Mondays;
Penultimate to the hype of carnival,
Indeed just the opposite.

Altars of reverence are deserted,
Adulting factors of brain go warp.
A communal mayhem dances,
To the feverish pace, of bacchanalia.

And yes!
Mud always, its the mud that luvs us,
As we become our own primal Adam.

STAYING AFLOAT
There's a hole in the wall for peeking
At life as it passes by
Some days there be sunshine and roses
Caterpillars looping by
Some days the rainbows fit small puddles
Where paper boats saileth by
After the clouds have had a good cry
Butterflies venture to fly

Monday WRites 95

HEAT OF ROSEBUDS
Let strands of night in somber tones
Where want of cup and harried lore
Forbid they were two 💕 hearts enshrined
And lust laid pon the altar bare
Bearing blossom sweet of night stalk
Candied kisses did fine procure
Oft wandered and now enlivened
Deed of satiety thus adorned
For rosebuds red and stations bare
Though threadbare hope to union one
Tis fabric weaved to moon dust song
Rhythm of stars 🌟 did pledge anon.

DRIFTWOOD
Big brother can envision blood of hopelessness
Tempest brews in coffee mug
Only cause its still morning, not yet noon
When shadows line up something gets lost
Can self be found in pouting lips of curls and whey
Man Friday, Man Friday, where art thou
Lost voices cry, in sand, of beach,
Like wilted discoverers

ALL FOR NOUGHT
Possessions
I have not beauty of stars,
Nor rhythm of oceans deep;
I lack the nectar of a dewy dawn,
No whistles to throttle a chime;
No salt to shed a sorrow borne,
I'm void of sunny winds,
Without a halo and absent of colour;
What jewel dazzles a rainy day?
No muse to reply in rainbows

II
Nadir
A dragon grins in skins of
Fiery wealth, stolen from souls,
Of blind sight, where opened stones,
Wide in galactic expanses, shatter
The magnitude of eons,
Waiting forever, in blank canvases,
From whose words doth jingle warbles,
To strand hairs of maidens gold,
In towers atop metrical, molds of clay

III
Bird song
Shape thee message of morning,
Holding by your quill a word,
Small and round,
Where completion folds away,
The carpet if night existed;
Fly by magicians!
They have missed the moon,
Targeted in love tantrums;
Too many robes drape them.

GARDEN MORPHS
Not a butterfly in sight,
Light touch of kisses, morning brings,
Are clouds, from orange to gold tinged;
Then silver laced these clouds settle,
And merge over silence of
Caterpillars, chomping green leaves
Of Plumeria.
Their striped pyjamas a signal to
Impending dreams, how they loop and crawl,
As a feast they eat, to new life;
Then, one day, when all the leaves are gone,
So are they;
But, at the same time, tiny fingers of bananas,
Peep through covers of infloresence,
There to grow, day by day, into a bunch.
