Need of Lighting
It's as if the stars feel,
There is no need of lighting,
They have below, their neons,
They have their red light spaces,
I used to look up in a sky,
Full of nighf stars, some twinkling
But now not so.
The sky turns coal black
I wait for a lucky dawn,
When i can see a twinkling,
When i can even count them.
Tsk tsk!
It's as if the stars feel,
There is no more,
Need of lighting.

Stars might have a mind to twinkle elsewhere.

I love to look up at the stars, Gillena, so your poem saddened me, to think that they might not sparkle.

I love it, Gillena. That is really a pivotal moment in time! Well done. And your are right! We are blinded by artificial light! AL :>)

One of the blessings of living in a somewhat rural area is being able to see the stars on clear nights.🌌

I rejoice seeing stars when i visit my country friends; they are squashed by the city lights.

I had hoped to see the Northern Lights this week, but when the clouds finally gave way, my neighbour's light (on all night, every night) made it impossible to see if they were there, so I resonate with this poem, Gillena...
