Memories Echo Their Truths.

It seems so very long ago; guess because it really is. Faces of two small children and a husband and i, filled this space called a home.

Spilled toys out of place to adults, but just where they should be to kids. Paint brushes, pencils drawing papers on the dinner table. That's not where an adult should leave them. Well anyway it's not what adult husband and father in the house thought.

Seems things were always out of place, but really, they were all in place, in time, in a harmony juxtaposed with the way it was and should be.

Now a lot of space fills that space; and memories echo their truths. Time was back then; when family was scribbled in the mind of a father, a mother, a daughter and a son.

  1. Your evocative description captures the essence of a home that was not only a physical space but a sanctuary filled with love, laughter, and the beauty of imperfection. The juxtaposition of chaos and harmony highlights the deeper connection that existed within the family unit, emphasizing that the true value lies in the intangible moments and emotions shared. As time has elapsed, the memories have acquired a profound significance, reminding us of the intrinsic worth of love and togetherness. Your haiku encapsulates a sense of introspection, prompting contemplation on the transience of life and the uncertainty that lies ahead. Well done in capturing these profound themes in such a concise and poignant manner. 👍👏👌😊

  6. As a mother living in the chaos of work, family life, I enjoyed your memories greatly. And also the idea that peace, when it comes, may seem out of place. Thank you for sharing this. 💜

  8. It is a real bonus to have memories revolving around the immediate family. We can then see the beauty of hilarity of things which were cause of disagreements before for we are quick to forget the reasons but not the episodes! Great narrative Gillena!

  11. Isn’t it wonderful, Gillena, that memories that seem so long ago can be recalled as if they happened only yesterday? I love the image of ‘Spilled toys out of place to adults, but just where they should be to kids’. I also love ‘Time was back then; when family was scribbled in the mind of a father, a mother, a daughter and a son’. Your haiku is stunning.
