 Sips Not Gulps

The birds and the dogs;

Songs and barkings,

Do they know the measure of

Sun rays blazing like unsheathed swords?

Now depression sings her loudest tune.

On some hot days.

When lethargy seeps into bones;

Like a drizzle gobbled up on the scorching pavement.

The atmosphere weighs heavy on

Thinking, capacity and capability.

Squashing reason, goals, and drive; like thin pastry mix.

Some days are good.

 I can handle it.

Some days i'm in a pickle,  in a  fix.

Sip of water; not gulps, sips.

  1. Oh that sounds like it could get uncomfortable. So vivid the imagery of: "Sun rays blazing like unsheathed swords?" I'd probably live in the tub :)

  6. For one who likes the damp cool mountain forests rivers and lakes of my PacNW, I would shrivel in “Sun rays blazing like unsheathed swords” — I would be depressed as well Gillena. Now my wife Kathy would call it paradise. She spent the 35 summers of our years together baking, mostly naked in the sun. Variety makes the world go round. Powerful write here my fridnd.
