GOSSIP
The rumor was spreading
Maybe she was heading
Towards a nervous breakdown
That face never used to carry a frown
Oh but they say he finally left her
No more like a cat does she purr
That seems impossible
Well, dirty laundry washable
He's now with her best friend
Didn't mean to offend
All skin teeth is not laugh
Maybelline surely got the shaft
And they were so close
Which makes it so much worse

I smiled at this one. I know I shouldn't have, serious subject, but the phrasing was spot on.

It’s better to ignore gossip than get caught up in it, even when it’s true, and you’ve conveyed that so well in your aphoristic poem, Gillena! I like the rhyming in it too.

I enjoyed your story which is way too common! Sometimes our trust is misplaced and abused.
