PAN SOAR
From out of sweat and frustration
From humble beginnings
Licky ting Licky tang
Sweet scintillating music
Of bottle and spoon
To laurels of orchestral heights
Among the lilliputs of society
Labelled with the castaways
Merging and rising to higher heights
Standing tall between giants
Burgeoning through ocean and sky
Soaring to faraway lands
Responsibility riot and disorder
Measuring territorial distance with discord
Crossing the line into wine and jam
Gyrating straight to university
To stimulate entertain reward and merit
Pan really reach
[i wrote 'Pan Soar' late 1900's. It was first published at my website Patch Work at the cover page in 2001. However, i lost this website. Pan Soar i also had printed on gift mugs and it was too, published in an anthology by poetry.com.]
HAPPY WORLD STEELPAN DAY.
STEELPAN OCTELLE
Bold and bright a phoenix at will,
Embers of bottle and spoon still
Smothering, caused so to rise
World class, rejecting demise;
Sweet music recycled from oil
Drums, a merriment coil.
Bold and bright a phoenix at will,
Embers of bottle and spoon still.

HAPPY WORLD STEELPAN DAY, Gillena! I enjoyed both poems very much. I listened to some of the music. Am amazed at how recycled oil drums have been organized into an orchestra with polished instruments and tuxedos. I like the enjambment in your octelle. There is a sweet sound to those drums that makes me smile.
