A SET OF CONTRADICTIONS
Hot day, cold voices.
Cool skin, deep set longing.

Brave steps,
Rough unmolded stones.

Harmony where is your desire;
Pain your surcease?

Yin do you contradict yang;
What of sunset and moonrise?

Death and Life;
Your boundaries you clearly defined.

Feather light,
And apple sweet.

  3. Without the contradictions you name in your poem, life would be bland indeed.

  4. "Brave steps,
    Rough unmolded stones."...My favorite lines. Contradictions brilliantly captivated....

  5. Beautiful, and even mystical in its acceptance of the questions we fling out into the universe! I think we might not want the answers.

  6. Gillena, the photo that you selected, helps to advance the poem's message. The bridge's suicide barriers look like the ribs of a long dead animal, while blocking others from seeking it.

  14. Love this question: 'What of sunset and moonrise?' So many of them pass by unnoticed.
