DANDELION
In a chiaroscuro of shapes your hand,
Pledging a bouquet so winsome and,
Bursting with this gift desire of miles,
Of weightless flights to carve smiles,
On the moon or hearts aflame with,

The wonder of magical dreams;
Formless shadows part the streams,
Of night bringing to day time,
Sweet senses with changes in clime,
Passing through asteroids in orbit;

Morning sun delights her kisses,
Where baskets carried by their misses,
Pluck the fragrance of radiant blooms;
An array of colours, array of plumes,
And there among them waning dandelions.

  7. I do love the sight of dandelion fluff floating by, even if it means I need to do some digging in my lawn later (so as not to upset the neighborhood association watchdogs).

  9. Yes, dandelions do give up quickly once plucked don't they? I remember in England many years ago they were the flowers that children first picked to give their mothers! The poem is really beautiful the whole way through. Gillena.

  13. I have a special place for dandelions and violets. They were abundant wild flowers in eastern Nebraska where I grew up. Especially in the schoolhouse play yard.
