#104: Road Trippin' Part II

AND

Of Houses, Walls and Whistling Winds
Prompted to include the line in a bit of prose
"there is nothing behind the wall
except a space where the wind whistles"
from “Drawings By Children” by Lisel Mueller

WIND SPEAK
What a September this was, with winds speaking in angry tongues.
I listened but could not comprehend  this wind-speak. Not only was there the language but also the angry action of ripping off bits of my roof and rearranging to it angry wind order.
You might think there is nothing behind the wall
except a space where the wind whistles ah but not so there is the bougainvillea shrub with its white blossoms coddled by bold radiant bracts.
We all need a bit of comfort from the storms of life, yes indeed.  There is the bougainvillea shrub behind the wall

  11. The wind is alive with impishness and the bouganvillea is not up for its nonsense :)

  13. Gillena - hope you will be able to go on bus tours again soon! Your poem about the wind is so appropriate. We may not lose bits off our roof, but old trees fall around here regularly when the winds gust. Praying they never fall on our roof! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

  14. I love that there is a "bougainvillea shrub behind the wall." You write with a distinct voice.

  15. I love the idea of ‘winds speaking in angry tongues’, Gillena, and, even though their language is angry, I imagine them scented with the white bougainvillea blossoms.

  21. A bus tour with like-minded people sounds great, especially in your beautiful corner of the world! Always enjoy your quotes...though I was not fond of Margaret Thatcher’s politics (she thought like our Reagan, not my favorite) I did like her words. Take care be safe, .... by the way, I tried to leave a comment last week but was unable to do so. Glad it was ok this week.
