A SAFETY FOLD
Doors, window, roofs, silence,
Our safety shields, our barriers.
Keepers, containers from defiance,
Cozy spaces to dwell in our thoughts.
All necessary; caves, roofs, silence.
A wish for all to dwell in peace,
Living without stem of violence.
A caution to winds of rage!
Your being is mere existence.
Helpless our plight, thus we must
Don our hard hats, roofs, silence

How To Construct The Fold Poem here and here
I haven't found my hard hat yet, though I've found some of the other spaces you mention. I like the suggestion that we can defiantly construct means to safety as resilient peaceful people.
ReplyDeleteI love your exploration of the prompt
ReplyDeleteYes, those closing lines! Hard hats and roofs needed. Peace - needed even more.

Silence as a safety shield. I think the world might be a safer place if some of the talking heads practiced a bit more of that thinking before speaking.

Safety still lives in both the external as well as the internal world. We need to find them. Nicely put.

Human greed is our undoing as we have always suffered from our fellow inhabitants lust for wealth and power. However we are now destroying other living creatures to extinction, the wild animals, fish, trees, icecaps and even rivers are dammed and water used for our greedy purposes and profit. We have no idea how to co-exist on the planet
ReplyDeleteas we are so blind.
