Monday WRites 206

ABANDONED HOUSE
An abandoned house,
rich in silence and vibrant red blooms,
stands at the corner;
where sunlight acts as traffic-stopper.

Where are the children's squeaky toys,
the tobacco smell of dad's pipe,
the hum of mum tossing pancakes?

These questions abide within its emptiness.

The photo of flowers in today's mosaic is an oldie. I took that photo in 2016 one morning walking home from the gym, the flowers were so bright and vibrant against an abandoned old building with a for sale sign.

You've heard about the Monday Blues ❧✿❧ well this is Monday WRites (musing on the definition here of rite, as any customary observance or practice eg the rite of afternoon tea). A Happy Monday to all
Welcome to Monday WRites #206, ❧✿❧ What's your mood like today ❧✿❧ I invite you to link in with one of your WRites.

  14. Gillena - if only old houses could speak … I think they would say the words of your poem. Lonely, lonely - with no souls to bring it to life! Thanks for your adding your mosaic and literary talent to Mosaic Monday today!
