THUS I RISE
How will history remember me?
Will history remember me at all?

As fliting blue tanager, blue jean?
Skittish dove pink footed on a wall?

Anguish of being flown from the nest?
Held in the arms of a loving guiding God?

Where a book-full of faith
Offered teaspoons of solace?

When one rosebud, tight, unopened,
Held the blooming of family - of love?

Now knowing love, must disappointment
Smile her taunts of desertion?

And smiles repay taunts for sake of faith
And again, again, those teaspoons of solace?

But looking forward to history's appeal,
I rise, to offer, a no-regrets-plea.

Just the savour of teaspoons of solace,
From a book-full of faith.

  5. I love the question and the multiple ways to answer. How can we answer but in a poem? No, no regrets! And a teaspoon of solace? I'd like to buy a jar of that.

  11. Life is so full of ups and downs, we accept that and live our lives enjoying them how we can and putting the sadness of the downs behind us as there is still so much to still fill our lives with. No regrets is the best way to think.

  12. Your opening questions are the questions that almost every human being asks. Some find answers in faith, and some in faithlessness. Everyone chooses. It's easy to tell your choice.

  13. It does not matter how or who remembers you when you are gone. It matters how you live now. You'll be dancing reggae with the angels and wont know about it anyway:)

  14. I think we all want to know how history will remember us. I think history will remember you, as you are one of a kind. Smiles.
