COFFEE MORNINGS
First light of morning streams in on shards
Of sheer magic
The aroma of coffee not yet brewing
Lures the poet in a semi- somnambulant state
To the kettle
The first whistle of the morning is cajoling
Words dance in wordle rhythm
Never settling like the spoonful of coffee
Which instantly dissolves rising in a steam
Of hot magic
When the air filled with perfumed breezes
Whose elixir mixed in by delft invisible hands
Weave a poem of early morning dew then
Ribbons of syllabic patterns tint the blossoms
Afresh again anew

I see we are kindred spirits in the coffee department Gillena. I feel the same way. A perfect response to the prompt for sure!

Afresh again anew....I just love these lines. I don't care for coffee but I love the smell of it. I can just smell it in this poem you have written.

Loving this one, Gillena. Like the picture also, I will call her "a pixie". A our house it is me who makes the coffee, I do it the night before and in the morning just push the "On" button on my way to the bathroom .

I do love the "hot magic" of a good cup of coffee in the morning... It is wonderful inspiration for a sluggish brain.

Pure coffee magic made poetry. I've not had my coffee yet, Gillena. After reading this, I don't think I can wait any longer. :-)
