REPLY OF A PRINCESS WOOED
Twinge of raindrops at midday aglow,
Sprout umbrellas, under clouds below,
Incessant chatter of garden birds hush,
Where rosebush, thorn-spiked, still blush;
Then chisel me a diamond, or better still,
Dark emerald, a spell to my chastity will.
