WORDS FIND ME
I’m here and there, when words find me,
Ink scrambles, flowing thoughts on doodles,
Though leaves have uncanny sense to flee,
Phrase bound are motifs smooth and serrated;
Games of catch and hold, when words find me,
Frieze syllable by syllable, undressing memory,
Bared to whispering wind or howling banshee ,
Thoroughly shredding paper past and future;
Ensnared are shackled twigs to tree,
Sunlight strums, so symphonies can shuffle,
Silhouettes, add depth of form when words find me

  3. Great words, Gillena. I especially like the lines:
    'Games of catch and hold, when words find me,
    Frieze syllable by syllable, undressing memory'
    and
    'Sunlight strums, so symphonies can shuffle,
    Silhouettes, add depth of form when words find me'.

    1. Happy you dropped in Rosemary, Yes, you don't think or decide on writing, and before you know it, you are like caught in a web-feeling of overpowering urgings to note something

  8. Words find us everywhere. One poem found me in the forest and I tried to memorize it till I could get to pen and paper.

  10. "when words find me," that is a writer's delight.
    This was nice, Gillena, a refreshing reminder of our dependence on finding those words.

  11. I enjoyed the sound of this and the word "symphonies" seemed to come at just the right place in the poem with the multiple endings of "when words find me".
