CONTEMPLATION ON A COUCH
Sometimes a surprise is painted in bright colours
To seep through the windows of a dull lonely gaze

In the stillness of seemingly inertia
A change propels the momentum of a wider view

Look beyond the skin the flesh the bones
Deeper maybe a soul lurks somewhere hidden

Shut tight behind a golden bolted door which
When a sincere knocking was ever wrought opened

  1. There is something more golden than daffodils in your response to Wordsworth's poem.

  7. I'm sorry to say I have an aversion to Wordsworth, and particularly this famous signature piece. I like very much, though, the way you have re-imagined the situation.

  8. Hi Gillena, thank you for the nice, fun prompt. I like to see what the prompter has to say about it. You did well. I don't remember ever reading your Wadsworth poem find. I like this part, "They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude." Mostly I suppose because I too lke some solitude.
