TIME WRITTEN IN SAND
At center, core place of wisdom,
Where seateth cadi and conspirator,
Life thrums cords, to flow streams
Of tiny worlds in suspension

Monuments dissipate, age upon age
In snail like pace, beneath stunning sun
And whispering moon unheard;
Simple sacrifices to unsuitable deity

Its much more complicated, dare to say
When ceremonious juggle of bone,
And grit, wager for satiety, at the cost
Of barriers and borders embroidered.

Titles inspired by the poetic words of William Butler Yeats has in turn inspired Kerry to present us with 2 lists of words. We were challenged: Use a minimum of THREE words (or derivatives) in a new poem on a subject of your choice. Additionally, you may choose further words from these two sources.

  2. Your poem has a measured pace which allows the reader to focus on each word in the context of the stanza. I especially liked the way you rounded off the poem.

  4. I like the idea of embroidered barriers and borders. The similar sounds in the words are fun to read aloud, and also it's interesting to try to play with the nuances the word embroidered has.

  8. at the cost Of barriers and borders embroidered... I love that. I used to do embroidery. It was delicate, time consuming, and what looks lovely on one side is a tangle of knots. Excellent visual for me
