MAKING NURSERY RHYMES [1] ABSENCE
She coughs into the silence
Does anyone hear
Neither mouse nor roach
To cuddle her near

Her kitchen she had cleaned
With soap and gleam
Her memories in mobiles
Dangle from a beam

  7. Absences always fascinate me. Why is something gone? Why did someone leave? Why do we try so hard to fill the void?

  10. At least she has a past to look back on despite the future looking bleak. I suppose that is why we store "stuff" from a happier time to comfort us.
