You've heard about the Monday Blues ❧✿❧ well this is Monday WRites (musing on the definition here of rite, as any customary observance or practice eg the rite of afternoon tea).

MUNIFICENCE
For nougth but day, the light doth shine;
Stars move in easy pace, to spaces bound;
Look not toward heaven, with sad divine;
Within the mind, there dwells, honed report;
Thy heart, cherubic as the light doth shine;
In this, the transience of mortal blight
Why searcheth far away, to places not of thine;
Here now he dwells , while amongst as afar;
A wasteful effort, an insult, the searching tine;
The wild daisy thrives in heat and wind,
Generous charity, for the light doth shine;

I love the wild daisy, and your phrase "generous charity" very much.
ReplyDeleteI remember the model of the FOLD--about the burning man--I wondered that I had seen this form before. I haven't tried it, but it is pleasing to read it and come to rest at the rhymes and on the folds. Not many carry true munificence, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteIs this Monday rite/write also meant to be a prompt?
Monday WRites is open mic the question posed is what's your mood on any particular Monday. Thanks for your interest Susan

"The wild daisy thrives in heat and wind," I love that line. It gives hope that we can thrive in whatever desert live places us in.
ReplyDeleteYes, that image of the daisy stands out, natural and sensual, something I can clearly visualise.
