YET
Love is blind, yet i can see
Mountains, where clouds sit,
On a sunny clear day. Yet they
Disappear in misty apparitions,
Yet they remain, unseen and i
Unseeing know, and wonder not,
For they are there.

Yet, warmth sees me, then i can be snow

Warmth of sun, I cling to honing
Divine presence. Yet somewhere,
Snow lays her magic like a blanket
Cold and white. Yet someone dons
Mittens in pairs to catch
Snowflakes falling. Yet to reap
The Rewards of divinity.

Monday WRites 189

SHIFT-SHAPERS
Words can be elusive shift-shapers.
There at the park to delight children;
Bouncy castle, slide, swing, these capers.
Blowing with wind on butterfly days,
Words, can be such elusive shift-shapers.
Should one fall into a deep dark chasm,
You should hear the scream of letters.
But when they fall to rest in community,
For endless hours, books of all papers,
Then, you can grab them and hold them.
No longer just words, or elusive shift-shapers.

[Daybreak by Joan MirĂ³ from google dot com. Fair use]

SUNRISE
A new bright morning, timid at first
To emerge, waits for sanction of bird songs.
Hitches a ride on the schedule of a passing aeroplane,
Dodges between tree branches and grey cloud spaces.
All the while, growing in confidence,
Feeling the warmth of a splendid sun.
Finally burgeons but still carrying the crayon set
of yesterday's sunset.
I am morning, OMG! she exclaims.
So she gives herself a hearty shake,
Then settles into a bright azure,
Waiting, knowing a few cumulus puffs will drift by.

Monday WRites 188

FOLD - BIRD FLOWN
The old year, and now a bird flown
Out from the old Cherry tree.
Serious seeds of resolutions sown,
Usher in the New Year to its purpose.
Christmas gone, and now a bird flown,
All is the hope of bright prosperity.
With the well wishes, our egos blown
In taste of fruit and savour of life.
Review in journey, how have i grown?
A handful of blessing multiply surely;
For the old year, and now a bird flown.

Monday WRites 187

[Periwinkle from my garden]

LAST HURRAH
In midmorning, I am thinking sunsets.
The kind that linger golden and bold.
Then drops, in a flash.
This year end, there is no sadness to leaving behind.
No hankering to looking back
Not yet anyway.
The lingering is preeminent to the drop.
All neatly arranged and equally fitted into the event. Year end.
All that can be, all that can blossom, has done just that.
If the fragrance dares follow into next year. Let it.
For such is the nature of blossoming.

Monday WRites 186

[Today's Mosaic -RED AND GOLD, 2 mall scenes and my Christmas curtains are up]

LOVE GIFTED
Gold frankincense and myrrh,
Gifts fit for the king of kings,
He in a manger lay;
With smiles and gurgles,
For animal friends looking on,

Sweet Mary; she swaddles him warm,
While angels sing his welcoming song.
Holy, holy, is the night
Emanuel he, our gift of love.

Monday WRites 185

In today's mosaic: A serenade from Sacred Heart Girls RC School Steelband, my 3rd Sunday of Advent candle lit, 2018 Christmas tree, 2018 Sorrell drink

SIPS OF JOY
Sips of joy, lets be ready
To welcome Mary's baby boy
Once again our heart we share
For Christmas time comes around
Nearer and nearer a star shines
Over a stable of majesty.
