 Wise And Wanton: a Fold

Lets bridge the ocean with rays,

Curved as reflections of the rain;

Lets write a fairy tale in the ways

Seekers hope for more treasure,

Then span ripples of ocean with rays;

Timely and memorable like history,

Colourful and garish like those days

When everything goes haywire;

And only words spoken can phrase,

Intentions for solutions to end mayhem;

Then connect across ocean with rays

September Seasons: a haibun

I remember from school days, growing up;  a weather verse with a line "September remember"

I read about and marvel of the autumn/September equinox: derived from the Latin aequinoctium, from aequus (equal) and nox (genitive noctis, plural noctium) (of the equal nights). On the day of an equinox, daytime and nighttime are of approximately equal duration all over the planet.

 September 23rd and its another season of Trini Christmas music. One hundred day of it, to be exact; hosted by our 'Sweet 100.1 FM' radio station. I am locked on.

Parang, soca parang, christmas calypsoes and laced in,  some of the international traditional ones. But, the emphasis is Trini songs and music.

Nearness Of You

 Here we go again dear,

Bright moon our delight,

I had hoped for wine,

And twinkling stars, but

You and me near remain.

No one counts stars to wit,

It's just a game, romance

Can just as well be a

A book on your mantel,

A story to fount night.

When all is said and done

Awakening should be

Just as sweet as words

Like dripping of treacle

Spoken or read before

An Autumn Fold

 Crackling lightning follows rowdy thunder;

My Mac-burger and Coke held for dear tighter,

No one told me i would be in this blunder;

The very sky did, of a foreign country,

Dormant minutes ago speaks rowdy thunder,

Vacation do and don'ts didn't list

Carry an umbrella,  no wonder

Oh bless my heart today i am doused so

In pouring rain like a flounder

Autumn  trees in there colourful garb watch me

Protecting Mac and Coke in rowdy thunder

Peewah, so called in Trinidad and Tobago is a palm fruit which when boiled with salt, makes a very tasty snack.
It has the texture of a very fibrous sweet potato, only it is not sweet.
Its is also know in some countries as Peach Palm Fruit

Quadrille - Smash
When the watermelon smashed to the ground,
it was as if the hope of a heatwave's passing just got dashed;
36 degrees C under the sun,
what a waste of delicious red cooling bites;
island breezes seem banished to fiction,
scourching hot days, reality.

Sonnet 30: When to the sessions of sweet silent thought
By William Shakespeare
When to the sessions of sweet silent thought
I summon up remembrance of things past,
I sigh the lack of many a thing I sought,
And with old woes new wail my dear time's waste:
Then can I drown an eye, unus'd to flow,
For precious friends hid in death's dateless night,
And weep afresh love's long since cancell'd woe,
And moan th' expense of many a vanish'd sight;
Then can I grieve at grievances foregone,
And heavily from woe to woe tell o'er
The sad account of fore-bemoaned moan,
Which I new pay as if not paid before.
But if the while I think on thee, dear friend,
All losses are restor'd, and sorrows end.

 Waking To Aging: a Fold poem

Some mornings when bones relate age to skin,

Poise just wants to relax and bend forward;

Reality and surreal veils become thin,

Body pains storing aging records;

Sky of morning relate age to skin,

With its grey clumps of sunless clouds;

Some games you lose and some you win,

That's the way of setting and risings sun;

A heartshaped cloud! a sure win,

Can seep through aches of rising to,

Another day when bones relate age to skin.
