BOXED EARS
Never quite got it, the reason i mean, for the saying.
"If i catch you doing [such and such] i'll box your ears".
Such a silly saying. [I mean in the face of boxes of chocolates]
Such a serious threat. With such painful gain.

Monday WRites 167

[drinking glasses in today's mosaic from the internet, fair use]

QUENCHED
remember those days... when water came from our kitchen taps...and we poured it into pretty glasses... the clear glasses we used for our water... the fancy patterned ones for juices...and always... there were the glasses we could drink from everyday...and there was the stash... in the cabinets.... we dared not touch...those were for special occasions... and if you visited someone's home you sat in the drawing room and you admired all the pretty wares...glasses included... in the cabinet... today... we put the plastic bottles to our mouths and we drink...our thoughts quenched...that...yes water comes from plastic bottles...

OF POEMS
of poems are the invisible side of being,
thoughts, feelings, emotions
those colours hidden under the skin
those words whispered at dawn
when silence blankets earth and sky

of poems are the invisible side of being,
how seethed in anger blood boils
heart flutters in young love
and passions sway with the fickleness
of being human

of poems are the invisible side of being,
hot and cold
and lukewarm givings
sinewy and bones, frames of living
truth, dare, adventure and understanding

of poems are the invisible side of being,
where sky meet sea at ocean's gathering
where no one can hide
unless we wraps our word-selves up in a bundle
to be where no one else in the world knows

Monday WRites 166

Reposting one of my 2014 poems LAKE HILLIER
The Lady Dunaliella Salina
And her exquisite sister Halobacteria
Sit in their boudoir under the sea
Spinning threads of pink cotton candy

Who knows where yarns of gossip go
Of Wati kutjara or salty bro
This much i know above as below
For miles and miles all is pink aglow

bubblegum pink
a salty lake fascinates visitors

Good Monday folks. Already its August. I choose to mosaic a pink wildflower growing in my backyard. Just didn't know what else to do this Monday. August is named in honor of the first Roman emperor, Augustus Caesar (63 B.C.– A.D. 14), who was the grandnephew of Julius Caesar.

HERE ARE SOME PINK POEM I FOUND ON THE INTERNET
Pink Sari
Pink - Poem by Mark R Slaughter
Pink Little Comb

AND A PINK QUOTE
“If hot red is for anger and rage, pink is the color of a soft burning – hot enough to light up the dark corners of sadness and grief, but cool enough to be tender, innocent, open.”
― Ibi Zoboi, from her book 'American Street'

A SET OF CONTRADICTIONS
Hot day, cold voices.
Cool skin, deep set longing.

Brave steps,
Rough unmolded stones.

Harmony where is your desire;
Pain your surcease?

Yin do you contradict yang;
What of sunset and moonrise?

Death and Life;
Your boundaries you clearly defined.

Feather light,
And apple sweet.

SOUNDLESS SILENCE
Colour of silence is dawn, just before roosters
sound their crowing. Smell of silence is night rain,
when earth rises to meet tears of cobalt clouds,
flattened into shadows of sky. Span of silence is
unfathomed eternity stretching on and on and on
soundlessly.

Monday WRites 165

[I used images from the internet to form today's mosaic, fair use]

A GORGEOUS RED GOWN
After her fabulous moon party where she donned her gorgeous red gown, on July 27th, shadow dancing with earth and her other guests, today finds Ms Moon a waning gibbous holding on to about 94 percent of her roundness.

Good Morning, its the last Monday of July 2018, This year is moving at such a pace.
Did anyone view the eclipse of July 27th. I didn't. I read about it and slept through it all.
