UNDER AN UMBRELLA

How do i colour these rainy days?

Now that my palatte is scattered.

Now that my brush is loaded.

How do i colour the deluge?

Who will scold morning birds?

Do they ever sleep late, like we?

You can wallow on pillow mounds

Poo poo the downpour away

But daylight saunters in.

Cut me some slack, you plead.

Got to ponder raindrop peperomia.

Strut your butt under an umbrella.

Like A Hurricane by Capicotto from google

ALL HUMANS

Just after the dust, facing masked countenance,
The dance between heaven and hell.
Borders of bombs, and children
With faces stained of estrangement,
Bereft of the beauty of sunflowers,
Bold before evening's coming.

Isn"t this enough?
Enough is enough!
The lament of sinners only provoke
The howling winds of more distraught days
With roof and tree strewn streets.

Bring all humans: cowering , saintly, or brave
Morph them into superheroes for future days.

She, being

So, she refuses the apple.

A few days later, she, the evil Which, does not show up for work.

As the rumour goes

(It good fuh she! why she had to go and thief de office petty cash)

The evil Which is gone!!!

❧✿❧A September HaibunSeptember extends the celebration of August 31st here in Trinidad and Tobago.  The Independence anniversary celebrations carry look backs to colonial days,  for a people's history is important to understanding and maturity. As well there is always assessment of where we are now as a nation.
The fireworks ( back after pandemic lockdowns), the cultural pageants, the wearing of national colours, carry forward into Republic Day 24th September celebration; that's when we got our personal head of state , The president.
Then there is September 23rd,  the start of a now totally immersed cultural happening of 100 Days of Christmas begun, and still hosted by our own Sweet 100 FM radio station.

 TRYST: A Fold poem
What shall i cook for you my dear?

Paprika sonnet red as eventide?

Russet as a sky in setting gear,

Warm as a kiss on a cooling breeze?

Somber lemongrass for you my dear.

How shall we sup this night then?

On holy vanilla cuddles? where

Coriander and cinnamon dilly dally,

Between verse and rhyme? fear

Not the passion of a ginger sweet tryst.

With dill and thyme i woo you my dear.
