The Independence anniversary celebrations carry look backs to colonial days, for a people's history is important to understanding and maturity. As well there is always assessment of where we are now as a nation.
The fireworks ( back after pandemic lockdowns), the cultural pageants, the wearing of national colours, carry forward into Republic Day 24th September celebration; that's when we got our personal head of state , The president.
Then there is September 23rd, the start of a now totally immersed cultural happening of 100 Days of Christmas begun, and still hosted by our own Sweet 100 FM radio station.
