May brings flowers after April's rain. That line i have read and heard many times. But it is not quite applicable to my clime. The truth is in May the shrubs, in the gardens may carry more blooms than they did before. They are always flowering. Then comes the June rains. The true rains of the Rainy Season. Floods in some areas with loss of roof and furniture. I feel certain in such areas residents will question the fates -For how can I be sure I shall see again the world on the first of May

EVEN

even

in May; blooming

ixoras a hedge of

pure delight, radiating in

sunshine.

sunshine

has found new joy,

her colours are varied,

but yellow will always draw hope

inward.

inward,

cherished portions -

such pleasantries banish

the dread, wanting to feast

on fear.

on fear,

put the dumb cap!

of hope, gather feathers

that flight may meander outward,

showing.

how nature glows,

outside the bounds of man,

in her own peculiar way,

even.

GRASPING CLARITY

In static fusion,

confusion merged colour and sound,

ROUSING DAYLIGHT

Here in tropical Trinidad, there are natural clocks to rouse the sleepy heads back to an alive realm. Roosters - while the cobalt covering of night cuddles the dawn, dwindling into first light. Then later the whistlers and songsters fill in the news of wake up time. Weather be Rainy or Sunny, they perform their tasks well.
