DOT
There are these pages in a book
Each page is dotted
Creative little hands join these dots
To a reward of surprise
Often times questioning
What is that?
When the last two dots are connected
Look! See what i have a made
A new creation, (that was already there)
Like stars in the Milky Way

BRIGHTER
About to bite into delicious sweet
The pinks of poui brighter than any day
With sloping hillsides gentle passing
And scent of wildflowers a mixed potpourri
Ha! cupcakes of dreams are never real
Sunlight though, streams in from morning

Monday WRites 46

MASQUERADE
Caught in the furls of wind and sass
They dance, they dance, for the day is bright
The rhythm drives the lad and the lass
Full fun in the streets everyone's in sight

Bird and fish dance together
Flowers blooms and butterflies scamper
Wing and scale there's nary a bother
Its masquerade no where is there a damper

NIGHTMARE
Between the toothless gums of the screamer
The waters of the ocean are held tight
There is no gushing forth of wave or ripple
Yet the silence of night sparkle, but
From fiery embers, without passion for sleep
Here sound falls deeper and deeper
Into echoes of void
And breath
At last, gasps before the measure
Of abyss is exhausted

SHORT VISIT
Protest peeks through the keyhole
For a view of larger 'why didn't they answer'
Why did't they let me in
See now, no one is about
Wait! is that laughter shelved on the mantelpiece?
I searched and searched a long time for this
See now, there it is
Yet, no one is about
Laughter will warm their hearts, when they return
My footsteps retrace to another pace
Where solitude taps its name on the keyboard
And words toss back and forth like ebb tide
When the song of the ocean soothes the soul.

Courage and continue are C words
Not meant just for the service of the smile
When the caterpillars are finished eating
Then the chrysalis hangs from the branch
The door to flight are wings of courtesy
Whispering wishes which court the light
Then comes the emerging a curtsy to life
Dynamic and oft times cruel
Onward and further into caverns unexplored

Monday WRites 45

a Joe Rao, SPACE.com image

MOON
The moon is a luminous creature
She calls you away from twinkling stars
She is so much like a silent preacher
Telling telling of ways divine
Here, no blizzards blow for this luminous creature
Silent and watchful, today she is round
Slowly she'll etch herself, to a sickle feature
Or morph into shadowy moods as she pleases
Ah, but we know her wiles, we know her nature
We chart manipulations of, her waxing, her waning
We watch closely this luminous creature
