Monday WRites 112

REFLECTION
From the aeroplane's window, my view
is of a vast seductive silent sea;
behoved to stories of pirates told to me;
Seafaring men of mystery who pursue
games of plunder under sun and moon;
shinning bright, illuminating deeds
of blood, and gore, and sowing seeds
of treasure while greedy hearts swoon;
Swashbuckling rowdies drinking rum
on a day of less adventure, light leisure
Crackling laughter, gold tooth, bare gum;
But the blind-folded one, whose displeasure
it is to walk the plank, not even the hum
of this aeroplane's engine, his soul's measure.

NICE NICE
Old fashioned gal all nice nice,
Through my veins flows
Sugar and spice;

Most of the time anyways,
Till you mess with
What's mine is mine,

Squirrels and puppy dogs
Then better scamper away;
Cause i'm an old fashioned gal.

STAR OF THE MORNING
Morning star, guides dawn to a nice shelter,
From which her blanket of night, can be folded;
Halves, quarters, eights,
Enough to stash away into bird songs
Gifting tweets and trills

Sheer fragrance

The wisdom of windows opened
To coolness, before
Yon petulant sun pouts like a naughty child,
Too torrid to melt desert sands,
Too yellow for narcissistic dreamers.

you susurrate your daydreams in wave,
Atlantic - of frothy white secrets, they've
come and gone: galleon, caravel, carrack,
swivel your globes, dare to look back

sea grapes line borders of winding paths,
like swirling skirts of constraint to wrath,
ancestry frolics in face of watery heave,
sand bucket and spade steady play, perceive

sky colours in sea -
children at Manzanilla
building sandcastles

GHOST TOWN
Under eyebrow of day
Shone resplendent sun
Pistols emptied in shells of ray
Vacant the concrete of everyone
Except for snippets of murmuring breeze
Scant this ghost town a forever siesta

Whiffs and wafts clouds looked from above
As phantom counting drought-scars below
Shhh! in ambles quick-draw overcast
And a riddle of bullets of rain

RAIN FLY
They danced like fairies, under the lamps;
An unstringed mobile in a windless dawn;
A stream of morning consciousness swamp,
Etheral stillness, mesmerizing rhythm,
Soundless, temporary wings, under the lamps;
The morning star, a lone bright light, kept
Sentient watch over night's dissolving ramp;
Assembling cloud wisps into grey mounds;
Fragile wings in courtship attraction to amps,
In the quiet street enlivening the new morning;
Rain flies, in amber glow under the lamps.

JOY ABIDING
There really is this place abiding
Unicorn strides direct joy to everyday

No summer's heat or winter's snow
Joy above upholds moon's curved sky

A flourish, for air breathes happily
Weep of joy blossom from Poui Tree

And clouds reflect in rainbow arc
Again such joy as have come to pass
