DRIFTWOOD
Big brother can envision blood of hopelessness
Tempest brews in coffee mug
Only cause its still morning, not yet noon
When shadows line up something gets lost
Can self be found in pouting lips of curls and whey
Man Friday, Man Friday, where art thou
Lost voices cry, in sand, of beach,
Like wilted discoverers

ALL FOR NOUGHT
Possessions
I have not beauty of stars,
Nor rhythm of oceans deep;
I lack the nectar of a dewy dawn,
No whistles to throttle a chime;
No salt to shed a sorrow borne,
I'm void of sunny winds,
Without a halo and absent of colour;
What jewel dazzles a rainy day?
No muse to reply in rainbows

II
Nadir
A dragon grins in skins of
Fiery wealth, stolen from souls,
Of blind sight, where opened stones,
Wide in galactic expanses, shatter
The magnitude of eons,
Waiting forever, in blank canvases,
From whose words doth jingle warbles,
To strand hairs of maidens gold,
In towers atop metrical, molds of clay

III
Bird song
Shape thee message of morning,
Holding by your quill a word,
Small and round,
Where completion folds away,
The carpet if night existed;
Fly by magicians!
They have missed the moon,
Targeted in love tantrums;
Too many robes drape them.

GARDEN MORPHS
Not a butterfly in sight,
Light touch of kisses, morning brings,
Are clouds, from orange to gold tinged;
Then silver laced these clouds settle,
And merge over silence of
Caterpillars, chomping green leaves
Of Plumeria.
Their striped pyjamas a signal to
Impending dreams, how they loop and crawl,
As a feast they eat, to new life;
Then, one day, when all the leaves are gone,
So are they;
But, at the same time, tiny fingers of bananas,
Peep through covers of infloresence,
There to grow, day by day, into a bunch.

Monday WRites 94

SHIFTING HUES
The clouds are tinted, salmon hues,
The coolness of morning, stroking leaves,
Then, the invisible paint brush, washes
Over the clouds, once more;
Now, there are silver white clouds,
And the mocking bird, on the wall,
Hops a dance of, wing flap wing fold;
To complement, the tones of transfers,
And then, the racous call of the grackel,
Be alert, for throughout the day,
Subtle changes are happening;
Then, all vanishes, into the sleep of night,
Where dreams, can be painted,
To colour, yet another day.

TIME WRITTEN IN SAND
At center, core place of wisdom,
Where seateth cadi and conspirator,
Life thrums cords, to flow streams
Of tiny worlds in suspension

Monuments dissipate, age upon age
In snail like pace, beneath stunning sun
And whispering moon unheard;
Simple sacrifices to unsuitable deity

Its much more complicated, dare to say
When ceremonious juggle of bone,
And grit, wager for satiety, at the cost
Of barriers and borders embroidered.

Monday WRites 93

CHAPTER ~ SEDUCTION
In a corner, in a nook of the garden,
Where sun peeps with stealthy gaze;
Words, spin a web of dainty caisson
A flower, plucked petal by petal, swoons
To windy drafts, in a nook of the garden
Tumultuous is the drama of two hearts
Beating, in waves of passion starving;
Loves him/loves him not, daisy chants,
Whence Cupid arrows salient in bargain,
Artfully pierce schema of plot and theme
Page by page, in a nook, of the garden

NO COLOURS DISPLAYED
dry season quenching rain
surprising
washing
drumming
shaping droplets
dangling from leaf tips

carnival mas makers their
feathers
beads
cloths
paints

the players feteing
waiting
paying
gossiping
googling
exercising

is there a poem in here
somewhere
no yellow brick road
no witch to tangle
no red shoes

definitely a waste of words
definitely words
are never wasted
definitely words
are never always written

words are creations little
gnomes
elfs
workers
builders
painters
sculptors

maybe some get to be

Voices
THE CHALLENGE: OK, 'nuff said. Write a short poem about the voices you hear or the ones you used to; the voices which call or enthrall; the voices which yearn and those which burn. Your assigned poem is a seashell; hold it to your ear; tell us what you heard the sea sing ...
