MORNING CUES
A spontaneous pattern of sunlight
Shadows paint on the ground
Forms indeed an intricate sight
It is morning they surround
But then came the thunder sound
And then it rained and rained
A curtain of raindrops well trained
Was now set to the window view
Not to be drawn there as if chained
Awaiting the next of morning cue

Lovely poem, Gillena. Somehow it feels joyous even when the rain arrives. It is rhymed perfectly for the dizain, but most lines (all but the first) are short of the 10 syllables. 🙁
ReplyDeleteThanks for the critique. Rosemary. This one was my first. Have to practise writing more in this form

Gillena - your poem is evocative of summer - sun and rain and waiting for the next day to dawn! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

A lot of attention is paid to sunlight and the weather but not so much to daylight shadows and the weather. I like the idea and composition of your dizain, Gillena.

Great composite Gillena. if it can be drawn easily then it reflects a strong creative
mind for which not many are endowed with!
