Monday WRites #144

A lot of hype about this movie, the super hero Black Panther seems to be taking over like a storm, the mind and pockets of movie goers and comic book reading enthusiasts like myself. I remember the good old ones from my youth: Flash Gordon, Hulk, Batman and so many others, which kept me wrapped in fantasy for hours on end; and too, the comic book swaps. Those are good times to remember. Whenever a super hero makes it to the big screen, my nostalgia waxes: Spiderman, Batman, Catwoman, the list goes on and on these days. We all love to see the baddies get whooped.

    Hi Gillena, I have to admit to not being a big fan of super heroes I'm more a Gone With The Wind kinda girl, but I do like your Haiku. I could just imagine walking into that darkened cinema and getting settled down to watch a film.

      Thanks for dropping in Maggie. I did see Gone With Wind so many years ago i just vaguely remember it all now. But i know at the time i did enjoy it a lot

    Hi Gillena - Like Maggie, I'm not much of a superhero fan. I have heard about the new movie and some of my students were planning to see it over the weekend, so I'm sure I'll hear about it. Your haiku is evocative of the suspense of a movie.

    I don't really understand the new Super Heroes either but still love to watch some of the old shows! Beautiful mosaic!

    I was going to the movies as a pre-teen in WW2 and being glued to the cinema at the Saturday mornings kids sessions as well as a grown up movie with Mum in the evening every week or so. In those days we loved everything for there was never a bad film for us.

    A good old action movie is hard to beat, especially when the good guys win! I was really pleased to see them make the Wonder Woman movie recently - very well done and a good promotion of strong women!
