STOP TO SMELL THE ROSES
Drink heartily, from azure: given smoothie
Breathing slowly, sigh; inhaling gratefully
Extend arms, yet to span, a tinted bounty
By strokes only of a master's, divine brush

Pause, to catch clouds, secretive; playing
Tag above so high, their angels in hiding
One might even see, heaven’s gate opening
Awestruck; linger long enough, in that hush.

  1. Whistles!! You have painted such a calm and serene image with your words Gillena :D Especially adore "Extend arms, yet to span, a tinted bounty by strokes only of a master's, divine brush." Beautifully expressed. Thank you so much for participating at Prompt Nights and for your constant love and support :D

  2. I love the idea of stopping "to catch clouds". I can almost feel them in my hand, all cook and fluffy... and singing of foggy dreams. :-)

  3. What glorious scenes you painted here Gillena; the master's brush, the clouds playing and of course heaven opening.

  4. "Drink heartily, from azure:" the whole poem is an answer to this line. Beautiful, Gillena.

  5. Glad it's not just me that is overwhelmed with emotion where roses are concerned...I close my eyes and fly as I inhale their scent...and dream of never breathing out XXX

  7. Oh yes, this is the absolute essence of what the 'stop and smell the roses' phrase implies – and the realisation of it.
