BABY GIRL

Earlier, I kept watching the poui pink and pretty

Blossoms giving life to skeleton branches wise and witty

So much so I smiled without knowing the reason why

And cradled my baby still in my belly in a way so shy

My first time becoming a mother

How would I know i was carrying a daughter

A child I think who knew me from long ago

Then came November, our first meeting, love aglow

Cradled there in my arms

Suckling so sweetly exuding her charms

She, with her hearty appetite

That was a November love at first sight.

A SONG OF RAINDROPS
Sing a song of raindrops, falling on flower petals, some refusing to leave, cause happiness is not a roll off task.
If you got hold of it and can't drink it, still, hold it, and keep it like precious pearls, for as long as.

Haibun Monday 10-26-20: Happy Halloween!

SUGAR RUSH
A mockery of cavities, a murder of crows. What can an inkblack sky tell of stories yet to be told?
Trick or treat, the song of all hallows eve. A carnival of bone sketched skeletons roaming the streets. Ghoulish faces mask the treasury of kids greedy for their sugar rush.
How many sweets can any one child eat.

Monday WRites 268

[From my archives 2015 photos taken at La Vega Estate. Lovely Sky and Blue Plumbagos ]

BLUE-DOM
My earth's a magnet
This i know, no way will i fall
Way way below.
Find we some wings
I swear i shall fly
Way up, way up to the sky
To a vast blue-dom
Above the clouds
There i to reside, never die

Monday WRites 267

Sometimes i think, we look at him through the wrong end of the long telescope of time.
Consider the bees hovering over yellow ixoras, gathering sustenance. Leaving footprints of pollen.

Looking at them do we think of fierce stings, like thorns on a pretty rose bush. Or the buzz of honey making in abstract cone like mosaic cubes, poured golden into jars  within reach, on grocery shelves to sweeten temperaments on tea craved days.

DECEMBER JOY - A FOLD

A sigh of relief October all over

Oh winds of September you were unkind

You messed up my roof and left for another

How then can i say i love thee most

I sigh with relief October all over

Surely my February wines and dazzles me

Still the love of December will never be over

For did he not come on strain of angel songs

Joy of a baby in a manger laid under cover

A saviour not for one but for all to remember

December comes quickly October all over

##NOTE: I have used the phrase '    October all over ' as my fold repeat in this poem. It is from a rhyme i know as a child regarding the hurricane season.

##NOTE 2.:The hurricane climatology adage “June: too soon; July: stand by; August: come they must; September: remember; October: all over” is a hoary chestnut that glibly elides risks at the beginning and end of the season.[from the internet]

##NOTE3: This 2020 September did really mess up my roof and left me with leaks
