...Mommy brought her a glass of milk. She didn’t like milk very much. What she liked very much was orange juice. She drank her milk slowly, with some encouraging words from her mommy.
It was now time to brush her teeth, and get into her jammies. (that’s what Zinnia called her pyjamas). She chose the white ones with the coloured kitty cats patterns all over.
Her dad began to read to her a bedtime story. In no time at all, Zinnia was fast asleep; dreaming of ice lollies, and lollipops...

A SPELL OF ROSE
pluck thee petal by petal
by orb of refrains settle
question this rose and ink
oh passion sway her mettle

tis night this moon in sync
will barter sold hearts for mink
for a rose let sound be taste
while ear behold a lover wink

dark thorns be stranger haste
to rose a maiden soul re-paste
fairest peeled of jealous sake
wild plea fraught to no disgrace

blush sweetly innocence partake
stretch of hand quell his quake
sated web through love spell spun
for sweet fragrance of rose sake

Monday WRites 132

[i used images from google dot com for this mosaic]

CLOCK TRIOLET
trudging tick tocks
through weight of day and sleight of night
trudging tick tocks
slicing eternity's parlance
unassuming in threading might
history needle-holed in its flight
trudging tick tocks

Monday WRites 131

DOVE RONDELET
one dove sits in the Cherry tree,
aura of morning sky serene,
one dove sits in the Cherry tree,
clasp of tiny pink feet to boughs, like
faithful fingers to rosary beads,
and dewdrop to wild grasses feeds
one dove sits in the Cherry tree.

FOX RONDELET
the quick brown fox,
where was he when the moon was new?
the quick brown fox,
to the Olympics he should go;
here his leap would be met i'm sure,
with gain and applause, all this for,
the quick brown fox.

Marian has prompted us to write a Rondelet.

Here is one written by Charles Henry Luders (1889)
A RONDELET
Is just seven verses rhymed on two.
A rondelet
Is an old jewel quaintly set
In poesy--a drop of dew
Caught in a roseleaf. Lo! For you,
A rondelet.

Hope you enjoyed my silly little ditty; my first Rondelet - FOX RONDELET

KISMET
She lies you know, that braggart
Cousin Coucous!
Oh, she met, Michelle Obama at
The hairdressers!

Between sips of tea, i said to my dear cousin:

Down there in doldrums,
Dark is the only vision seen
And shadows are plated
From breakfast to supper

Dreams are those times you reckon with surreal

It was neither winter nor summer.
That time, my first meeting Michael,
He was wearing his brown skins.
As a kind of kismet

They do that you know, angels are chameleon

The span of knowledge Heaven holds,
Fastens many a wonderer
In diaphanous skein
Exceedingly awesome

Neither day nor night sat on its hunches

Neither cloud nor rainbow
Thus, could ride the moment,
Here he was at the edge of real
So brilliant was his aura,

Strength of another worthless tyrant absorbed

My soul knew his guardianship
My spirit he had so awakened
"Taste and see" he said, "of goodness,"
"And relish the nectar of hope"

Isadora Gruye at Real Toads prompted: Write about a relative's encounter with a famous person. That's all. The encounter doesn't have to have actually happened. And the famous person does not need to be living or even from the same era.

My poem though, having an ilk of its own strayed a little out of focus into a very self-centred shift: my apologies; AND, i do not have a cousin Coucous.
