 Play Mas

masqueraders fill the street 

the road is all yours 

that time of sunny year when

Whine and jab cohorts 

beads and buntings quivering 

bodies dancing free 

music is appropriate  

carnival time oui!

'Play Mas' is my micro season as well as the poem title. I wrote 'Play Mas' using the Choka form, but starting with a 7 syllable line

    I enjoyed your sunny micro season poem, Gillena, and the variation on the choka. I especially love the alliteration and movement in the lines:
    ‘beads and buntings quivering
    bodies dancing free’.
