Wed In Red - a magic 9 poem
She a bride wore red
She didn't conform to the day
Of white veil that led
To travails of aisle and crown
What a pity her friends all said
They are so beautiful together
But their vows were civil-ly read
She let them have their say
Yet she the bride wore red

I'm glad she was so confident, and I hope it was a long, happy marriage! I think in some places red is the color brides wear. It's supposed to be lucky!
ReplyDeleteI wore red but my marriage wasn't so luck.
ReplyDeleteI still wear a lot of red.
Red look good on me.

I remember reading that 100 years ago, most were wed in black because you could not afford special clothes for the wedding... and the best color for church was black....

A colourful magic 9 poem, Gillena, and I love that the bride didn't conform! I didn’t wear white either.

I wore a red skirt too. Husband wore a green suit, but the baby wore white :)
