Quadrille # 137: Throwing Poem Stones
Along a stony path a mocking bird skips
Stopping now and then when her beak dips
Insects caught between crevasses
Hinder not her hunger, she passes
Gingerly knowing there they live
Her feathers a preening she will give
Thence evening roosting flight her motive

Words as skipping stones, a lovely concept. Mocking birds are mimics, and my grandfather had one in a cage, and it swore like a sailor's parrot. I remember my shock when a crow spoke to me.
