WORDS FIND ME
I’m here and there, when words find me,
Ink scrambles, flowing thoughts on doodles,
Though leaves have uncanny sense to flee,
Phrase bound are motifs smooth and serrated;
Games of catch and hold, when words find me,
Frieze syllable by syllable, undressing memory,
Bared to whispering wind or howling banshee ,
Thoroughly shredding paper past and future;
Ensnared are shackled twigs to tree,
Sunlight strums, so symphonies can shuffle,
Silhouettes, add depth of form when words find me

Great words, Gillena. I especially like the lines:
ReplyDelete'Games of catch and hold, when words find me,
Frieze syllable by syllable, undressing memory'
and
'Sunlight strums, so symphonies can shuffle,
Silhouettes, add depth of form when words find me'.

Words find us everywhere. One poem found me in the forest and I tried to memorize it till I could get to pen and paper.

I enjoyed the sound of this and the word "symphonies" seemed to come at just the right place in the poem with the multiple endings of "when words find me".
