I love how you have used some of the more traditional tools of womanhood - needles and pins- to illustrate the power of their vote - skilfully and eloquently written
Thankfully women won the right to vote - a much better balance indeed. I, too, liked the reference to older passtimes like sewing, wearing gloves etc. from my grandma's day.
For millennia the role of women was belittled because it was so important. It is amazing that it took so long to recognize the equal partnership and even longer for universal suffrage which is still not yet universally. One day perhaps.
I especially like the first and third lines.
