KOMOREBI
I used to be a masquerader,
Happy and free;
Some years my hubby
Put the gold dust on my belly,
And some, in my belly button too
Komorebi;
Hot days, when i never ever felt the sun,
Only the music, surging through
My pores;
Of the steel bands, and the brass bands;
Rhythm and whine.

The season of Carnival ends this week with Ash Wednesday. So much for Carnival 2016.
Flash 55 PLUS!
Challenge: To write a piece of poetry or prose on a subject of your choice in precisely 55 WORDS.
There is an optional extra part of this challenge, to visit twentytwowords.com and peruse the examples they give of several foreign words, describing common experiences, which have no direct English translation. And use the word, or its meaning as inspiration for your poem.
Oh, gorgeous! Takes the concept to a whole new level.
ReplyDelete(But if you look closely, I think it's 'komorebi' with an 'i' on the end.)
