 With Orange Crayons

What is the colour of sunlight

Bright as the glare of a lit place

Under azure sky filled of clouds

White as sheep's wool shaved

Who is so clumsy as to

Drain all the raindrops from

Each cumulus puff leaving them

Dry as bone in a boneyard

When will the golden sun bow

To a smiling cool day like a

Newworld springtime where

Every form of green greets the eye

Yellow alert says the weather woman

Remember to hydrate

Keep your waterbottles  close

And your sweat bands intact

Is hell a freezing place

Where ice cubes are sovereign currency

Where ghost and goblins tremble so hard

They rise to earthly realm

Haloween draws near

With orange crayons

Just for the fun of it

Jack o lanterns grin

  1. I especially love your first three stanzas....the colors and the imagery are just excellent. And the title, orange crayons and then connected to Halloween make me smile :)

  9. Such a colourful poem, I love the rain unless am going out somewhere dressed up and wearing makeup (happens twice a year perhaps).
