Fireworks
The night sky alive with the sound
Of booming colours lit,
Showers
Its impermanence though not found
Distinguishable fit
Flowers
It is more spectacle than awe,
Keeps the eyes peeled skyward,
Even
Curiosity of night law,
Colours drift and award
Heaven.

I enjoyed your fireworks, Gillena, and love the phrases ‘booming colours’ to describe them. I think the impermanence is what we all love about them, and our ‘curiosity of night law’.

This is very descriptive of fireworks displays but I appreciate also how you remind us of the difference between spectacle and awe; the night sky, Heaven- awesome every night.
