Mosaic 4: Carnival Past (photos from my archives)

 Its The Dry Season here in Trinidad and Tobago. We are also in The Carnival Season but the pandemic will prevent crowd activities; though the music will keep us the mood.

You've heard about the Monday Blues well this is Monday WRites (musing on the definition here of rite, as any customary observance for eg the rite of afternoon tea).
Welcome to Monday WRites #282: A Happy Monday to all. Be Safe.

#115: Jolly, Jubilant and Joyous

AND

today's challenge to use WAY in the 44 word poem

ONWARD
way out, way way out to sea,
steamers wind their way
against  currents of time, purporting
power of all things possible;
hazarding dreams to arriving at
safe ports, already charted in divinely
posted albums;
it is hoped that travelers and cargo
remain  picture perfect.

  9. Beautiful poem. All those cruise ships are waiting in harbor for lifting of pandemic restrictions. Must be a huge loss in dollars.

  10. Gillena, the pandemic does wear the world's joy down after awhile. We have to do as you do here, supplement it with beautiful memories and upbeat music. Hoping we are back to face-to-face living and celebrating real soon. Great write on the prompt!

  11. Such pretty cards! It must be fun to get different haikus from friends. Carnival will be very different this year but I plan on making some traditional foods to celebrate.

  19. Thank you for the snapshot of your seaview, Gillena. It must be exciting to watch the steamers. All we can see on the North Norfolk coast and windfarms, distant gas rigs and the occasional fishing boat. Luckily, we have seals!

    1. Thanks for your appreciation Kim. The sea view is not part of the area where i live. Though I wrote this piece base on a flash of memory of a sea scene, in this poem it is not to be read literally ☺
