THE EXERCISE OF WALKING
New sneakers or old, mornings made for walking
Stretch the length of main street and sidewalks;
Cardboard street-sleepers embrace sleep unstirring
Wise worm-seekers will be there to assemble tastes.
Hot doubles, surely, on mornings made for walking
Court the breakfast crew to selections: hot, or mild;
Served in paper squares, long before shops-opening.
At the corner, where Poui aloof in bloom, a swerve,
A detour, off the main street gasps crisp air inhailng
Horses in pasture care only for sweet treat, munch
Nose to the grass, such mornings made for walking

How to construct The Fold poem
Such mornings are indeed made for walking — there is a certain pace to your words which matches the act as well. I loved the image of those horses in pasture. Well penned, Gillena! :-)

I like the repetition of ‘mornings made for walking’, Gillena, which sets the pace and keeps up the memento. I also like the ‘just risen’ feeling, like an early morning yawn, and the horses grazing, so relaxed!

Excellent word-smithing and vibrant imagery. I like the fact that the too prevalent homeless are not overlooked, with /cardboard street-sleepers embrace sleep unstirring/. As they are oblivious to you in their drug-induced or mentally ill haze; a real problem in today's cities .

I like the repetition of "mornings made for walking" - it held the poem together nicely. I like a bit of repetition, it is such a natural part of speech. I enjoyed reading about your Fold form, too.
