Monday WRites 106

[image from google dot com]

GOOD MORNING MAY
May greets me with mild morning light
And bird hymn twitter-ings

May greets me in the solace of
Curtains drawn letting in the life of day

May greets me in proclamations of trust
Of what really do birds sing?

May greets me to contemplation
And why? with stealth of light day slips in

May greets me to yearning for
Sahara dust clouds to drink from oceans

May greets me with the task of remembering
What is it like again? the sound of raindrops.

EINSTEIN WANDERS INTO WORD LAND
This poem is science
Awaiting proof of being
Having no idea what similes be
Until the smiles of readers
Beaming light of nodding heads
Warrants readability

This poem is light
Particles bouncing off syllables
Shape-shifting into phonetics
Pronouncing itself words

This poem is alien
To thoughts of readers
Who ponder meanings
Fill spaces with wonder
And ascribe nuances of experiences

This poem is experiment
Beam me up metaphorical escapades

BOOGEY
Classic boogey man
He's a - shaking
While you a - quaking

He's scary, he's formless
He waits for the night
To give you a big fright

He's the boogey man

There are shadows on the wall
He hides there after dark
He never goes to the park

Ever at home over your bed
That's where he likes to be
But him, you'll never see

Cause he's the boogey man

If your roof creaks
He'll sing along
He knows every song

When the shutters drop
At the loud clock tick tock
He's there to give a shock

Classic classic boogey man.
He's a formless belly full of sound
Ready to grind you to the ground

A GRAIN OF SAND
Such are stars, to numbers cling,
But grains of sand to futility;

Fireworks explode in colours bring,
Feet, imprint on beach tranquility;

Cupped ocean, in a seashell will sing,
Meandering sands, skirt tides agility;

Oh thou creation, by word thus to spring,
Sand, lend dreams and castles possibility.

PEACOCK
Pretty pretty bird
Of you so much i had heard

Now we stare and stare
Still you only hold dear

To your garland display
For us no wings in array

You folded them tight
Held there with all your might

Pretty pretty bird
To call you vain is absurd

CONTEMPLATION ON A COUCH
Sometimes a surprise is painted in bright colours
To seep through the windows of a dull lonely gaze

In the stillness of seemingly inertia
A change propels the momentum of a wider view

Look beyond the skin the flesh the bones
Deeper maybe a soul lurks somewhere hidden

Shut tight behind a golden bolted door which
When a sincere knocking was ever wrought opened

AFTER COFFEE CORNFLAKES
Don't discard the cereal carton Tony.

Let me shape words for you.
High,
To clouds touching steeples,
Knowing seams of adhering.

Curved, like a slow steady gaze;
Far,
Into vast tomorrows,
Where heartbeats sync.

Forming shadows, bold and daring,
Play;
Rhythms of sunlight to ribbon,
Pale cool slow moon kisses.

I shape my words for you, Tony;
Round,
Like rings in eternal galaxies,
Where only laughter resides.
